QuickRec is a Chrome extension that lets you record your screen, browser tab, microphone, and optional webcam, then upload the recording to receive a shareable link.

What data we collect

• Screen recordings — video files you create when you click Record and Stop. These may include anything visible on your screen, tab audio, your microphone voice, and optionally your webcam image.
• Extension preferences — local settings such as whether microphone or camera is enabled. Stored only in your browser via Chrome storage.

We do not require an account, do not collect your name, email, or browsing history, and do not track which websites you visit.

How we use your data

• Upload your recording to our servers so we can generate a shareable viewing link.
• Store the video file so anyone with the link can watch it.
• Remember your microphone/camera preferences locally in the extension.

Where data is stored

• Video files are stored in Cloudflare R2 (object storage) and served through our API hosted on Railway.
• Preferences stay on your device in Chrome local storage — not on our servers.

Who can access your recordings

Recordings are accessible to anyone who has the share link you receive after upload. Links are unlisted (not searchable) but not password-protected. Do not share links with people you do not trust, and avoid recording sensitive information.

Data retention

Videos remain stored until manually deleted or until we implement automatic expiry. If you need a recording removed, email chivkunov.d@gmail.com with the share link.

Third-party services

• Cloudflare R2 — video file storage
• Railway — API hosting and upload processing

These providers process data only to operate the service. We do not sell your data.

Permissions explained

• Screen / tab capture — requested by Chrome when you start a recording.
• Microphone / camera — only if you enable them in the extension popup.
• Network access to our API — to upload finished recordings.

Children

QuickRec is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of QuickRec after changes means you accept the updated policy.
